PACIFIC OCEAN ENGINEERING & TRADING PTE LTD (POET), under the umbrella of POET INVESTMENT HOLDINGS PTE LTD, is a 100% local owned company.

POET was founded since year 1990 where our core business are focus mainly on the Shipbuilding Engineering as well as Trading of Marine Equipment within the Asia Pacific Region, mainly in Singapore, China, Indonesia & Malaysia as well as some of the Western Europe and Middle East countries.

Our shipbuilding experiences started from the early days of building small tugboats & barges, through the growing years of shipbuilding experiences across diverse platform. Today, POET has already established itself as one of the well recognized shipbuilding company in the Asia Pacific Region with good consistent annual turnover and are expected to grows substantially over the years, offering not only supply of Marine Equipment but also the capability to build and customize a full range of Marine Vessels, be it large or small to meet the Marine Industries’ need.

The type of vessels that we have built in the past are as follows: 120ft to 365ft Deck Cargo Barge (approx. 200 units) 122m Submersible Barge (approx. 4 units) 100m to 120m Accommodation / Pipelay Barges (approx. 8 units) 70m to 75m Platform Supply Vessel (approx. 10 units) 16m to 38m Twin Screw & Azimuth Stern Thrusters Tugs (approx. 100 units) 41.8m to 56m Anchor Handling & Supply Vessel (approx. 15 units)

We builds about 90% of our vessels in China and remaining 10% in East Malaysia in various yards with part ownership of one shipyard in China, Jingjiang Nanyang Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, in Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province.

We have currently an order book for delivery between now and up to year 2011 where some of the more notable vessels on order are as follows: Twin Screw Towing Tug / Azimuth Stern Drive Tug / Deck Cargo Barge Accommodation Pipe Laying Barges Mini Bulkers Anchor Handling Tugs Diving Support Vessels Platform Support Vessels Buoy Maintenance Vessels Offshore Support / Utility Vessels Tankers Submersible & Ballastable Barge In summary, we are moving steadily in the direction of building vessels of higher capability exclusively for the offshore oil and gas industry, in particular, towards subsea. We expects the offshore market to remain between stable to positive in the coming years, in tandem with the current price of oil which record prices continue to give good margins for oil producers and to all service providers. Moving forward, we were also seeking to build up our own fleet of offshore service support vessels, diversifying into ownership / operator.
